Bad Mommy = Bad Baby

A little lesson I learnt this weekend. Arranging the Grandparents to babysit on Saturday night while Bad Mommy and Daddy go out is all well and good. It's the day after that you really need the babysitter.
Went out on Saturday night, got horribly snot-flying drunk and got to bed at about 5am. The Kid was back home by 9am. I thought this would be okay, because he can usually have a nap for two hours or so before lunch time.
No such luck. It was like he was punishing me for leaving him and going out. He was awake the WHOLE day. Wanting to be entertained. I tried everything to get him to sleep. I was desperate. I dosed him with Rescue Remedy AND Calpol. No such luck. I fed him and gave him a warm bath followed by a massage. Still no closing of the eyes.
Eventually at about 9pm he decided he'd punished the Bad Mommy enough, and fell asleep. He then even let me sleep until 2am, when he woke up for a feed. Gratitude for small favours and all that.
Lesson was well learnt. Being a bad mommy the night before means your baby is guaranteed to be a bad baby the next day. Just to punish you.

Hi there! I'm not a bad mommy - not even a mommy but maybe a little bad. :) I found your site on Amatomu, and I'm sure I'll drop by again. :)

Haha, they really do try and punish a person in their own special ways. I thought my mother was lying to me about what an evil baby I could be

So basically next time make sure you get the grandparents to babysit the morning after too so you can recover from your hangover before seeing the darling darling satanic child ;)
