Home... portrayed by a 13 year old

This is a poem that my 13 year old wrote to me a few weeks ago and I saw it on my desk this morning and I thought you would all like to read it..

He wrote this to me after I told him that since he doesn't like my rules and my home he should phone his dad and arrange to be collected..

So after a few minutes he came and gave this to me...

" Home by J

Home is a place where you feel safe
Home is a place where people love you
Home is a place where people go out of their way to help you
Home is not a place to fight
It is all of the above and much more
Here is my home
And if not... Where is my home? "

Kids are smart.. I think I am going to hang onto this poem and when he is misbehaving point to it and say ... "Where is your home ?" hehehehe

or at least save it and read it to everyone on his 21st....

classic.

i remember trying to run away from home, and leaving my dad a note asking him to look after my budgie, telling him i'd be back for it one day...

hehe, the things we do when we're kids
